The question of the relationship between large corporations and start-ups is crucial, as digital transformation accelerates and the race for innovation continues. How can Gulliver and the Lilliputians work together? Marie Ekeland, founder of Daphni, a venture capital company specialising in start-ups, shared her experience at a USI Event in July. A product or service-centric culture on the one side, a user-centric culture on the other; execution efficiency and economies of scale here, agility and speed in organisation systems and processes there; an unrelenting drive for profit versus a frantic quest for growth… There are genuine differences between a large group and a start-up, and the main requirement for achieving fruitful cooperation on both sides, she explains, is finding a common language, aligning patterns and building a common interest.
