Las Vegas gets a digital twin to help cut carbon

At the CES electronics show in January 2022, the city of Las Vegas unveiled the first version of its digital twin. This digital model of the buildings, transport systems and infrastructure in the gaming capital built in the middle of the desert, where the casinos and giant screens operate 24 hours a day, is an initiative that aims to help the city reduce its carbon emissions. And this comes thanks to data from the Internet of Things (IoT), broadcast by sensors over a 5G network.
