Two researchers from Harvard have developed a new flow battery with an exceptionally long lifetime with reduced maintenance and costs. The innovation is likely to accelerate the green transition as flow batteries offer a promising storage solution for renewable, intermittent energy such as wind and solar. The technology developed by the two Americans allows energy to be stored in organic molecules dissolved in neutral pH water.
