By identifying real-world use cases, consulting residents, and making use of sensors, data and digital twins, four American cities – Aurora, Illinois (population 180,542), San Antonio, Texas (1.5 million), Raleigh, North Carolina (480,000) and Mesa, Arizona (510,000) – are transforming into smart cities. They are using sensors and data processing solutions to monitor and manage their infrastructure, including transportation systems, water supply networks, waste disposal streams, hospitals, schools, libraries, etc.
