Imagine a town or city in which drivers can immerse themselves in a good book at the wheel, while travelling to a pre-set destination. This is exactly what is promised by self-driving cars which, being interconnected, should protect us from accidents caused by human error. So what might a city look like in which all forms of transport are automated?
