“Two buildings in Germany to produce their own energy and clean-up polluted air”
Reading time: 1 min
Heidelberg Village is an eco-neighbourhood designed for harmonious co-habitation. It fosters social diversity and environmental protection, as showcased by two innovative buildings that have been described as the world’s largest passive-energy complex. These buildings in Heidelberg Village are designed to generate more energy than they consume – using solar panels. The solar panels will produce heating, with their shade creating a cooling effect in summer. The walls are to be covered in paint containing titanium dioxide that will “eat up” pollution by transforming nitrogen oxides into oxygen. To be delivered in 2017.
