Why does 5G now appear to be such a strategically and commercially important goal? Ultra-fast broadband (a network operating 100 times faster than the current 4G networks) holds out the promise of a technological leap forward. With ten times faster connection and virtually zero latency, users can remain uninterruptedly connected. This “mobile network of the future” should make it possible to better manage self-driving vehicles, create VR games, continue to expand the Internet of Things and the streaming industry and support virtual surgical procedures. But Europe appears to be lagging behind China and the United States.
