According to a study by the consulting firm Olivier Wyman, worldwide spending on mobility services is likely to rise from $US389 billion in 2023 to $US1.1 trillion in 2035. This threefold increase will be due in part to an expansion in electric vehicle charging services (32% annual increase) and advanced driver assistance systems. Asia, which in 2023 represented 41% of the global mobility market, will outstrip Europe as the main driver of this growth, with annual increases of 11%. By 2035, Asia will account for more than half of total demand for mobility services. Additionally, if mobility growth is to be sustainable, the study calls for credible legislation, public-private partnerships, and infrastructure development.
